**Hope House Children’s Hospices **have an opportunity for a **Maintenance Officer **to support our Retail team. Your role will be based in our Shropshire, Cheshire, Wrexham and Powys area, travelling to shops throughout the region, with work base in Shrewsbury.

You will join us on either **full-time 37.5 hours or part-time 30 hours per week,** on a permanent basis. In return, our Maintenance Officer will receive a competitive salary of £21,232 to £24,623 per annum, which equates to £10.88 to £12.62 per hour.

**About the **Maintenance Officer role**:
Your role as the Maintenance Officer will be to ensure that our retail buildings are maintained to an excellent standard and comply with all relevant building regulations. You will keep our facilities running smoothly for the benefit of staff, volunteers and customers and support the refurbishment of new shops alongside the Senior Maintenance Officer, working closely with shops teams and Retail management.

Your work will include carrying out a range of planned preventative maintenance work, building repairs, shop refurbishments, grounds work and building/health and safety inspections.

You will be a reliable individual with high professional standards, capable of quickly integrating into the charity’s Estates and Facilities team. You will be flexible in your approach to working hours and times and be willing and able to travel across Shropshire, Cheshire, North & Mid Wales.

You will be required to provide your own transport; mileage expenses will be reimbursed at 45p per mile.

**What we are looking for a **Maintenance Officer who**:

- Complete maintenance and repair work on the charity’s retail premises.
- Has a background in building maintenance with a hands on practical approach
- Ensure that repairs, maintenance and periodic testing is carried out safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Work with the Senior Maintenance Officer and Retail management to effectively plan maintenance work, minimising disruption to the shops.
- Support shop acquisitions and refurbishments, completing general building works and fit out as required.
- Form effective working relationships with Retail colleagues.
- Work positively as part of a charity’s Estates & Facilities team.
