Crossroads have been providing a service to Carers in Northern Ireland since 1979. We provide services through our domiciliary, Young Carers and In Your Prime projects.

Our mission is to provide quality, highly trained dependable staff to our customers, whenever they need us.

**Location**:
Various depending on social activity, however, will be centred in your local area - with reasonable travelling involved.

**Hours of Work**:

- Casual position
- Approx. 6 - 9 hours per month

**About The Role**

**JOB DESCRIPTON**

**1.** To collect young carers from their home and take them to arranged social outings.

2. To return young carers home after the social outing has finished.

3. To participate, if required in the development of programmes and to follow through agreed activity.

4. To take responsibility for ensuring that activities are safe and enjoyable for the young carers.

5. To work as part of a team and to support the other young carers support attendants.

6. To work within the guidelines on child protection and adhere to this as the highest priority at all times.

7. Record-keeping and administration as required.

8. To attend meetings, courses and working groups as required.

9. To undertake any other relevant duties which may be required.

**Required Criteria**
- Right to work and live in the UK
- Full driving licence, valid insurance (business use), use of a car Residing in the area advertised

**Desired Criteria**
- Any experience of interpersonal skills or youth work would be an advantage

**Skills Needed**

Situation Evaluation and Analysis, Ability to Identify and Anticipate needs, Building Relationships

Crossroads is a registered charity and not for profit organisation that depends upon a major part of our domiciliary work being obtained through contracts with the Health and Social Services Trusts.

In order to meet the needs of the additional project financially, Crossroads receives support from local companies and grant making bodies who are an invaluable resource for funding special projects and meeting some of the needs of carers in Northern Ireland.

Many of these companies and grant making bodies are committed to supporting Crossroads’ work year after year. Some of the special projects we have obtained funding for from these sources are ; Terminal illness, Life limited children, Alzheimer’s/ Dementia, In your Prime project and Young Carers Project.
