Kingston is a beautiful Royal borough with a historic setting on the banks of the Thames with excellent schools and a bustling retail centre, all surrounded by open green spaces such as Richmond Park and Bushey Park, former recreation grounds for Tudor kings and queens. **About the Role**

Aside from these core activities, the role is based within our pollution control team and you will be involved in regulating the Environmental Permitting process, responding to and investigating pollution control complaints and providing general pollution control advice.

There will also be the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in areas such as land contamination and acoustics. This role is an opportunity to be the lead professional in Air Quality for the boroughs of Kingston and Sutton.

Both authorities have a strategic commitment to improving air quality and have declared borough-wide Air Quality Management Areas. This role requires close working with other council services and partners to develop, implement and monitor our Air Quality Action Plans and other air quality initiatives. The role includes completing annual status returns and fulfilling the requirements of our DEFRA Air Quality diffusion tube survey as well as seeking funding for Air Quality initiatives. With expected changes in both the ULEZ boundary and the National Air Quality Objectives, you will be responsible for identifying the risks and opportunities that these bring to the Boroughs.
