**Site maintenance operative**

We are looking for someone with experience in general maintenance, who is enthusiastic and proactive with a can-do attitude, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team. They must be professional, have good communication skills and an appreciation of the need for flexibility.

A full driving licence is a requirement of the role, as the position includes driving a variety of vehicles on site.

**Full Time** Mon - Fri 8.30am to 5.00pm

**Location** - Askam in Furness

**Salary** - £12 per hour

**What it’s all about**

Our Askam site is a busy, fast paced environment. We recover and store vehicles on behalf of a multitude of motoring organisations, insurance companies, Cumbria Constabulary, National Highways, vehicle owners and salvage firms. In this role,

No two days in the roadside recovery industry are the same, so your role will be varied and at time challenging. You will need to use your problem solving mindset to evaluate the safest, most effective way to find a solution.

**What we need from you**:
Our Maintenance Operative is to engage in a range of tasks connected with the maintenance and upkeep of our sites, including building maintenance, tidying, gardening, and general maintenance tasks to ensure the business is always well presented.

This is a varied role with key responsibilities being but not limited to:

- Attending to general maintenance requirements across the site including performing preventative maintenance, handling basic repairs, and making sure our sites are clean, tidy and safe.
- Attending to grounds maintenance requirements across the site, including hedge cutting, strimming, gardening.
- Assist vehicle storage department with the moving of vehicles
- Assist service department with movement of vehicles
- Completing planned and reported grounds and general maintenance issues.
- Assisting with Fleet management; Vehicle daily checks, Vehicle washing & cleaning, vehicle stocking
- Assist with loading/unloading of vehicles
- Supervise 3rd party contractors; working in a safe manner and recognising, rectifying or reporting any health and safety concerns immediately.
- Ensuring that work undertaken or not completed is appropriately communicated effectively with line manager as required.
- Reporting all breakages, breakdowns, and damage of equipment to the Line Manager
- Undertaking any other tasks as required from time to time to contribute towards the successful operation of the company.
- Ability to pass Local police vetting
