**£37,744 to £42,631 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £37,744 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £42,631 will be via incremental progression.**
**Location: Clapham, London.**

Use your engineering knowledge to help the Metropolitan Police Service fight crime.
This position is within the Technical Support Unit (TSU) of the MPS. The role of the TSU is to provide technical solutions and operational support to police operations investigating and disrupting serious and organised crime.
Engineering Infrastructure and Operational Support (EIOS) TSU engineers provide and maintain technology for the TSU including:

- Networking and IT
- Video and audio technology, recording equipment and video monitoring systems
- Radio equipment
- Asset management systems including using GPS.TSU engineers also carry out operational work
- The role is based in Clapham but EIOS engineers work anywhere in London (and sometimes beyond), as required.

With increasing workload and technology upgrades, the TSU EIOS team requires more staff.

**Key Responsibilities**

EIOS TSU work is driven by operational requirements and support and, therefore, a flexible approach to work in both time and what you do is sometimes required. There may be a requirement for you to be on an on-call rota to support our work.

It is important to be able to successfully communicate with customers and be part of a team in order to meet our objectives.

Although based in Clapham, EIOS engineers work anywhere in London (and sometimes beyond) and a full UK driving license is required. A willingness to work at height, following suitable training, is also desirable.
The CTO role within EIOS is to support Communications and Electronics Officers in providing technical solutions and engineering support, having gained an understanding of our working practices, equipment and systems, and using your existing technical knowledgeand experience.

The role includes assisting in choosing, evaluating and purchasing equipment and systems, carrying out modifications and commissioning, through to service maintenance and on-going support.**
**Vetting**
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness toundergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.
