**Exciting opportunity to join a small Borough Council**

Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, a small Borough of just 9 ½ square miles, covers the three towns of Oadby, Wigston and South Wigston. Our small size belies are intention to deliver big for our communities and to help support us do this, an opportunity has arisen in the Economic Development Team.

Our small size means we come together as officers to deliver work and can turn things around quickly. We have a can-do approach and are seeking an officer to join us with a similar mindset.

This role is to help us manage and deliver our UK Shared Prosperity Fund allocation over the period to March 2025. The role will work with other officers in the Economic Regeneration team to ensure records are kept, manage filing and returns to Government and be involved as necessary in delivering individual projects. The post will also prepare for and co-ordinate management meetings, gaining a good understanding of the fund and the projects being delivered. This role is a key part of the team to make sure the Council delivers the Fund locally. This role is offered part time for 2½ days a week to be determined with the successful applicant.

**JOB CONTEXT**:

- To undertake all aspects of administrative work for the successful delivery of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
- Pursue continuous improvement and respond positively to challenges and change.

- Promote and maintain a culture which places customers first and delivers a high standard of service.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Assist with the maintenance of manual and computerised systems and records including producing reports, keeping records and statistics, organising meetings, taking minutes and following up on actions.

2. Work with a wide range of partners to ensure that project spend is achieved, liaising with them on progress, and reporting this into the main team.

3. Ensure a positive, supportive and constructive line of communication with colleagues within the service and colleagues of other service areas.

4. Deal with telephone or written general enquiries about any aspect of the Service made by members of the public or by professionals and obtain appropriate advice from colleagues where appropriate.
- Provide support and input into monitoring reports and claims submitted to Government
- Provide support in raising and processing Purchase Orders and have a broad understanding of budgeting.
- Oversee the Committee and Working Group processes including generating reports and following them through the system.

**WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT**
- Currently, the post is situated within the Main Council Offices at Station Road, Wigston. However, the Council is developing an Agile Working environment, whereby a split between working at the offices and at other appropriate locations (e.g home working) is available. Further, you may be required to work from other sites and places within the Borough where your professional attendance is required.
