Senior Demand Planner

An individual with a passion for demand planning, forecasting and technology. Will actively support the CMS sales teams; analyzing customer stock and sales data, managing customer forecast and delivery requirements and creating and loading vital purchase planning reports. This role is pivotal in mentoring and helping develop less experienced members of the team.- Must ensure the timely and successful delivery of forecast information to our Vendors and loading requirements on our retail planning system, with a focus for our customers to receive the best possible support and service in the industry.- You will be promoting CMS in your daily responsibilities with your impeccable customer service, leading high-level face to face customer and vendor meetings.- You will be self-motivated to effectively manage your workload, achieve objectives, lead the development of internal processes, reports and systems.**Role Responsibilities**:
- Lead regular meetings with customers and vendors to ensure forecasts are aligned and have full understanding of requirements to support purchase order placement.
- Communicate with sales directors and senior managers to highlight potential supply chain issues.
- Lead process improvement projects.
- Analyse historical demand and trends, use latest customer or market intelligence to construct a forecast that can be used to support the raising of Purchase Orders.
- Interpret and validate customer intake and forecast plans to ensure Purchase Orders are raised in line with actual requirements.
- Produce and communicate accurate customer and vendor stock, sales & forecast reports.
- Ensure customer stock and sales reports are reviewed and any open customer or CMS purchase orders are amended as required to ensure that the customer or CMS is not over/under stocked.
- Highlight stock issues in a timely manner to ensure that aged stock is kept to a minimum and ensure timely identification and movement of surplus plant stock.
- Generate and seek approval of purchase orders, placement and progression of purchase orders.
**Additional Responsibilities**:
- Proactively working with vendors and customers to identify shortages, potential out of stocks. Take and communicate appropriate actions and measures to minimise disruption to the business and to maximise customer service levels
- Always act as an ambassador and representative of CMS Distribution to ensure a professional image for the Company. Actively contribute and act as a role model to the CMS values.
- Use all CMS resources and departments to maximise the customer's experience.
- Look for continuous improvement in developing and improving internal processes and to help and participate in implementing them throughout the business
- Ensuring a smooth operation of the supply chain from PO placement through to delivery to customers
- Authorise stock movements for own brands and customer plants.
- Mentoring and developing less experienced team members.
**Skills & Personal Attributes**:
- Must have 3 years forecast and planning experience in a retail/technology environment or relevant degree/qualifications.
- Ability to communicate at a senior level, both internally and externally, in face to face meetings, and also in written and verbal formats.
- Must be able to make decisions independently in a fast-changing environment.
- Must have impeccable administration skills.
- Can demonstrate their ability to go the extra mile, to exceed expectations.
- Outstanding organisational skills and ability to manage own time effectively.
- Proven strong relationship building skills at senior levels.
- An interest and passion for technology.
- Experience of SAP or other MRP systems is desirable.
- Responsible and professional attitude to work
- Is commercially and business aware
- Ability to multi-task, whilst having high attention to detail.
- Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work well within a team but equally a self-starter that can work well on their own
- Strong decision maker
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
