**Job description**:
The Procurement Officer reports to the Procurement Business Partner within the Corporate Procurement Team which is part of the Finance, Compliance and Estates Directorate.

You will be involved in the provision of a professional procurement service ensuring compliance with government procurement guidelines and legislation, ensuring value for money is achieved in MCA contracts.

You will work in a small, dynamic team, assisting the Senior Procurement and Contracts Business Partner and the rest of the team. This role will support the delivery of procurement activities across the MCA and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This is an exciting time for a passionate and professional individual to join our team at the MCA. This is a varied role, where you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders throughout the MCA and wider Government/industry. In addition this role will enable you to build on your existing experience as well as the opportunity to undertake a professional qualification in Procurement and Supply and learn new skills.

This role will be based in the Southampton HQ. MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.

There may be a requirement for occasional travel on official duty, which may involve overnight stays.

**Your responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
**Corporate Contracts Administration**
- Administration duties for all corporate contracts which include Electronic Procurement Card Solution, Travel, Car hire, Stationery and Venue hire e.g. acting as main point of contact for the Electronic Procurement Card Solution, analysing monthly management information for a range of corporate contracts.
- Escalate and monitor reported issues regarding the corporate contracts.

- Provide a tender management service for the procurement of goods/services for purchases within assigned delegation levels and areas of responsibility, ensuring correct balance between compliance and commercial input to deliver best value for money for the MCA, in accordance with Public Contract Regulations and Government Procurement Policy.
- Provide support to collaborative procurement programmes run by the DfT and wider Government.

**General duties**
- Responsible for your own professional development - with the opportunity to undertake Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent qualifications and membership if desired.
- To keep abreast of developments to ensure that their own continuous professional development is ongoing and up to date, supporting best practice within the Agency.
