People Governance and Compliance Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the People Team as a People Governance & Compliance Specialist and reporting to the People Services & Systems Manager and working in collaboration with the wider People team and in close partnership with the IT & Payroll team, the People Governance and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for the governance of all People Processes and Data and Compliance activities.
As the People Team’s governance and compliance SME the People Governance and Compliance Specialist will:
- ensure that the People Team Governance Framework is coherent and compliant in all respects.
- support the efficient and effective operation of the process and data frameworks.
- review our current processes and procedures and identify areas that can be improved and moved in line with best practice.
- ensure all processes and procedures are documented and maintained consistently including touch points/interactions with all stakeholders.
- transform the way data is governed by building and maintaining data definitions and quality rules to support improved data integrity leading to improved reporting and service delivery within the People Team
- ensure data and information is handled in accordance with all data privacy compliance requirements - legislative and policy (GDPR).
- work on GDPR matters for the People Team and work as part of the wider GDPR compliance group.
- lead appropriate audit activity within the People team to ensure all auditable documentation are accurate and up to date.
- carry out quality assurance checks on the outputs of the People Services Team
- attend regular data and process governance committee meetings.
- maintain current knowledge and awareness of compliance requirements.
What you’ll need:
- Experience of HR systems, data management and processes
- Good working knowledge and experience of GDPR
- Previous experience in process governance and quality assessing
- In depth knowledge of transactional HR (HR admin, payroll, absence, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, training management)
- CIPD and or GDPR qualification would be desirable.
