Admissions Officer

Cambridge, United Kingdom Churchill College Full time

**£31,859 to £41,366 per annum (depending on skills and experience)**:
Churchill College seeks to recruit an Admissions Officer to cover maternity leave, to administratively coordinate the recruitment and selection of high-quality undergraduate students from a wide range of social and educational backgrounds.

Churchill is one of the thirty-one Colleges of the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1958 as the national and Commonwealth memorial to Sir Winston Churchill. Situated just outside the city centre on a superb 42-acre site, it is an academic community of nearly 500 undergraduates, around 400 postgraduates, and more than 200 Fellows. Its foundation specified a particular mission in mathematics, science and technology but it also has many students in the arts and humanities, and academic performance is outstanding across the board. Its student body is notably diverse, including a high proportion of students from UK state schools and colleges, and from under-represented backgrounds.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the College's Admissions team in this critical and varied role.

As the College's Admissions Officer, you would be the administrative lead of our annual undergraduate admissions process (an integral part of the Cambridge University admissions process) and de facto process manager of our Admissions Office. You would assist the Senior Tutor, Admissions Tutors, and Tutorial Office with student selection, admission, and induction; deal directly with would-be and actual applicants and their supporters; and help maintain and develop relationships between the College and schools and colleges, in the UK and worldwide.

At different points in the year, this post involves a good deal of routine administration and a variety of interactions with others. Close liaison with academic and non-academic colleagues in Churchill and Cambridge University is required, as it is with a range of external people and organisations. Excellent communication skills are therefore essential. We seek a colleague who has compelling experience of administrative work needing meticulous accuracy and attention to detail, in at least one of university admissions, recruitment, or outreach (though comparable experience from other educational sectors may be acceptable).

This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week on average. Some evening and weekend work will be essential. There will be peaks and troughs in workload across the year with times when additional hours will need to be worked and times where less hours will need to be worked.

Benefits include a generous pension scheme, healthcare cash-plan, five weeks of annual leave, free parking and lunch on site.
