The Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit has vacancies for a Band 2 Nursing Assistant to join this dynamic team and to work in an exciting environment.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has the desire to care for our patients to the highest standards and to treat our patients with the respect and dignity.

You will work closely with the registered nurses to deliver high standards of nursing care. This will include:
Providing personal care

Communicating with patients and their relatives

Maintaining a safe and clean patient environment

Ensuring stock levels are maintained

We will provide you with an induction programme and support your education, development and training opportunities

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, dieticians and clerical staff who all work together with a focus to provide excellent standards of patient care. As a member of that team your input will be valued and respected and your personal and professional development will be supported with training and education opportunities.

Nursing Assistants work closely with the registered nurses to provide excellent standards of patient care. Amongst the key responsibilities for this role are:
Providing personal care

Assisting patient mobility where required

Assistant patients to maintain their nutritional and hydration needs as required

Communicating with patients and their relatives

Maintaining a safe and clean patient environment

Ensuring stock levels are maintained

Ensuring that equipment is clean and safely maintained
