**Full-time Bookkeeper/VAT Role**
**Description**
- Preparing client bookkeeping using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Preparing VAT returns.
- Processing sales invoices/purchase invoices onto client software.
- Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers and liaising with clients on queries.
- Processing bank transactions on software with no bank feed.
- Review and reconcile accounting software bank feeds.
- Bank reconciliation and control.
- Quarterly wages control (to include entering wages due onto the software and controlling as necessary for both employed staff and subcontractors when applicable).
- Liaising with payroll to reconcile CIS submissions.
- Assisting clients with bookkeeping queries.
**Knowledge and Experience**
**Essential**
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Demonstrate experience of working in an administrative environment and working with computerised data systems.
- Be a clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with staff and clients.
- Show an ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative unsupervised
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and trust.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts
- Have knowledge of cloud based accounting software, which may include some or all of Xero, Sage One, QuickBooks and FreeAgent.
- Demonstrate an awareness of CIS scheme.
**Job Offer**
The role is offered with the hours of 8:30am until 5pm Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch. The firm does offer both hybrid and flexible working policies and is in a town centre location with car parking available.
