**Job Summary**: We are seeking a Head of Operations to build and lead a team in support of SSC Operations. As Head of Operations, you will provide the foundations and safe operating environment for the company, from which other departments can then flourish. You will have a broad and strategically important role; providing portfolio and programme management of cross-department business activity, whilst ensuring operational delivery of SSC strategic intent, ensuring alignment of SSC practices with associated governance, legislation and best practice, and delivery of our craft trials. Whilst working alongside our Delivery and Production teams you will help expand and run the infrastructure and asset requirements to support our growing remit of activities and aspirations for full vertical integration. You will help refine and enhance our ways of working through delivery of our Integrated Management Systems, expanding on our accredited quality and safety certifications to encapsulate environmental and security.

Close collaborative engagement with all parts of our growing company will be essential to enable effective delivery, and ensure our ways of working are efficient, streamlined and matched to our business objectives. You will be responsible for optimising processes, streamlining workflows, and ensuring SSC have an effective operating environment.

**The Role**
- **Operational Leadership**: Provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of SSC operations. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Lead and manage the operations team.
- **Organisational Planning**: Develop the company's portfolio and programme management capability, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget. Implement best practices in programme management to monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure project goals are met. Co-ordinate with cross-functional teams to align programme objectives and deliverables and execute operational strategies to achieve the business goals and objectives; contributing to SSC’s growth.
- **Strategic Risk Management**: Assist the Executive Management Board in managing strategic and operational risk, including Health & Safety & environmental planning.
- **Trials team**:Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of trials for our products, including manned dive vehicles and autonomous surface and subsurface systems. Ensure all trials are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with the Design and R&D teams to refine and improve testing protocols and methodologies.
- **Integrated Management Systems**: Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of integrated management systems (quality, safety, and environmental management systems). Oversee the conduct of regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Develop and implement corrective actions to address any non-conformities or areas for improvement and identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies and implement best practices to maximise productivity and quality.
- **Stakeholder Collaboration and communication**: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Design, R&D, Production, Commercial, Client Support, Admin, HR and Finance, to align operational efforts with business objectives and maintain the Business Roadmap. Work closely with the Head of Production and Delivery teams to ensure operational alignment and support. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Communicate operational performance and strategic initiatives to the executive team and other key stakeholders.
- **Facilities & Assets Management**: Delivery facilities and infrastructure suitable for our growing operational requirements and ensuring the availability of support assets, including RIBs, road vehicles and workshop and manufacturing equipment.
