Specialist Grade in Gender Dysphoria

This is a post for a Specialist Grade Doctor in Gender Dysphoria in the nationally commissioned service at Walkergate Park. The post holder will provide senior medical input to the Northern Region Gender Dysphoria Service (NRGDS), provide medical care for patients within the service, hold weekly outpatient clinics and work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team. They will also be expected to offer advice to other healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care.
The post holder will typically seetwo newassessments andeightfollow-up appointments over three outpatient clinics, per week. There are 10 programmed activities (2.5 SPA plus 7.5 PA for direct clinical care).
It is envisaged that the post holder will work 10 programmed activities over 5 days. Following appointment there will be a meeting at no later than three months with the medical manager to review and revise the job plan and objectives of the post holder. The overall split of the programmed activities is 7.5 to be devoted to direct clinical care and 2.5 to supporting professional activities (as per the Royal College of Psychiatrists recommendation).
