**Role summary**


The Upholstery Development Assistant is responsible for assisting in the development and creation of new upholstery products. Reporting to the Upholstery Development Manager, they will work closely with the Development Team to ensure products are of the highest quality, commercially viable, and meet design and brand standards. They will assist in all stages of development, from concept to production,

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- Supporting the Development Team in all stages of product development, including research, concept development, and prototype creation of all upholstery products.
- Assist with collaboration with designers, and the production team to identify and select appropriate materials and processes for upholstery products.
- Assist in the creation of all technical specifications, including pattern creation, cut an sew processes, SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure) and other relevant details.
- Become proficient in using upholstery software (PDS & Marker), learn to operate our cutting machine, sewing machines and develop upholstery skills.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Design, Production, Procurement and Quality Assurance, to ensure smooth production processes and timely product launches.
- Assist and influence a sustainable approach to upholstery material and processes

**Skills/Qualification/Knowledge/Experience required**


- Previous experience in upholstery development or a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- An interest in upholstery materials, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience of sewing, or other upholstery production processes would be advantageous although not essential.
- An aptitude towards computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant design tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and innovative approach to product development.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
