We are recruiting for a QC Laboratory Assistant to join our Quality Control team based at our ARC site near Penicuik (EH26 0BF). The role is a full time (37.5 hours per week), 12-month fixed-term contract position with some flexible working options.

The primary function of this role is to provide a range of laboratory-based support duties to our Operative Quality department.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
The main responsibilities will include:

- Cleaning and preparation of our QC laboratory and equipment
- Routine calibration, standardisation and monitoring of laboratory equipment
- Supporting the operation of all operational areas in QC i.e. Serology, Microbiology and Biochemistry.
- Perform basic QC assays when requested.
- Responsible for management of incoming samples and stock of test reagents, chemicals and consumables.
- Conduct all duties in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and appropriate regulatory requirements.

**QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & BEHAVIOURS REQUIRED**
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively and show a "can-do" attitude towards challenges
- Must have knowledge of and some experience with core IT packages i.e. MS Office
