**Production Planner (Pharmaceuticals)**
**Role**: Full-time, Permanent Contract
**Location**: Fawdon, Newcastle upon Tyne
**Salary**: £30k - £32.5k + bonus + significant benefits
**Working Hours**: Monday - Friday (08:00 - 16:30)

**The Role**
We’re seeking a logical and pragmatic Planner to utilise our ERP software to produce effective work schedules for our machines or our suppliers. You will need to balance our demand levels and capacity whilst maintaining appropriate inventory levels, all in compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Assigned your own machines or suppliers, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of the associated work processes, equipment and restrictions in order to anticipate issues (e.g. breakdowns, absence, supply delays) and adjust your plans accordingly. Attending daily cross-functional meetings, you’ll work closely with colleagues in our Quality, Warehouse and Operations teams to understand material and resource availability. As part of the role you will prioritise orders to generate stable and effective work schedules to meet agreed customer service levels, project timelines, new product introduction and compliance programmes. You will also interpret capacity models to understand factory capabilities and maximise output. Taking ownership of the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) activities for your area, you’ll manage forecasts to support Procurement and scheduling, and ensure appropriate inventory levels are controlled and maintained to protect supply whilst avoiding excess or expiry risks.

**The Person**
- Experience in a similar Planning role within the manufacturing sector (preferably pharmaceutical, medical devices or FMCG)
- Well organised with a meticulous eye for detail, ability to react with speed and precision to changing business priorities
- Highly numerate with good computer skills, including intermediate-level Excel skills (e.g. complex formulas, pivot tables) and experience of using ERP / MRP systems
- Able to show initiative, take ownership of tasks and has the tenacity, drive and ambition to get the job done - but equally keen to learn and knows when to escalate issues
- A logical forward-thinker, always switching between the detail and bigger picture in order to make links between projects, and use experience to anticipate problems.
- Excellent communication skills
- SAP knowledge would be advantageous
