Specialist Clinical Physiologist (Neurophysiology).
SALARY SCALE: £37,831 - £46,100
1 x WTE post : 37.5 hrs per week full time. Permanent.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to contribute to Clinical Neurophysiology based at the new site Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) and Royal Hospital for Children & Young People (RHCYP), Little France, Edinburgh. EH16 4TJ.
Dimensions of the post
The Area Service provides a broad range of Neurophysiological investigations on adults and paediatrics including:
- Routine and Drug activation EEG recordings.
- Portable EEG service i.e. SCBU, ITU.
- EEG Videotelemetry.
- 24 Hour Ambulatory EEG/ Home Video EEG Telemetry
- Evoked Potentials
- Electro-Corticography.
- Physiologist led NCV clinics.
You will be expected to:
- Plan and perform a range of specialist procedures including videotelemetry in adults and paediatrics.
- Participate in the day/day running service including troubleshooting.
- Adhere to local Trust policies and procedures.
- Support the team in specific areas of work.
**Requirements of the Post**:
- Degree in Neurophysiology (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident, calm and open to taking direction, particularly in stressful situations.
- RCCP/ Application for registration.
Annex U of this post can be considered if you require additional training.
The Service operates a family friendly flexible working approach, however once trained the ability to offer this flexibility will need to be balanced against the departmental commitment to some longer days /evening work.
