An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse or AHP to join the Trauma and Orthopaedic Service at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
We are seeking to appoint a passionate, person-centered and highly motivated individual to support the completion of patient assessments, diagnoses and management of patients with Musculoskeletal (upper and lower limb trauma) problems.
Working in the Orthopaedic Department, Working in the Orthopaedic Department, within a small supportive team, is primarily based within a fracture clinic Out Patient setting, working to support the Orthopaedic Trauma Consultants. You will carry your own patient caseload. A key part of the role is requesting and interpreting x-rays, in order to formulate a treatment plan. Highly developed MSK clinical assessment skills along with a thorough understanding of soft tissue and fracture rehabilitation are a vital to this role.
The postholder will have the ability to lead in the provision of MSK expertise, offering advice and support to patients, their carers and other health care professionals when required. They will also be expected to work closely with colleagues of all disciplines to support the delivery of Orthopaedic outpatient care.
The successful postholder will also be expected to support relevant audit and research within the service and have the ability to organise and manage their own workload to ensure the delivery of a timely and effective Orthopaedic Outpatient service.

Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
