The directorate is comprised of four teams; Award Services, Contract Services, Planning, Insight and Improvement, and Compliance and Assurance, who all work together to deliver a service to support, advise and provide expertise to our academic community for our extensive and varied portfolio of externally funded projects.

Award Services provides a range specialist advice to UCL's externally funded research and innovation portfolio through the departments of: Research Support & Development (Pre-award); European Research and Innovation Office; Research Finance and Compliance (Post-award). The service is delivered in partnership with academic and professional services colleagues across UCL, collaborating organisations, and funders.

**About the role**:
Reporting to one of the Research Finance Managers, you will be responsible for effectively and pro-actively managing a portfolio of academic departments and their research projects throughout the project lifecycle. Working collaboratively with colleagues across RIS, you will provide day-to-day support, acting as the prime point of contact for staff within academic departments, funder organisations and the University’s Professional Services teams to provide an efficient and holistic post award service.

**Note: This post is available as a 12 month FTC for external applicants and 12 month secondment for UCL internal applicants.**

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have experience in post award financial management of research projects, with a knowledge of assurance and compliance obligations, excellent data analysis, reconciliation and IT skills.

You will demonstrate good time management skills and must possess the ability to prioritise and manage their own workload. You will have proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy with attention to detail.

You will have good communication skills and be able to build and sustain effective working relationships both internally and externally. Be customer focused and have a commitment to provide an efficient, professional and effective support service.
