**Underwriting Assistant, Liability **(M/F/d)****:
Overall Objective

Provision of an accurate and quality administrative service to the Liability Team demonstrating care for customers and respect for the regulatory obligations of the firm.

Your job

**Responsibilities**:

- Accurate input of data to the in-house S2000 underwriting system;
- Scanning, photocopying and filing of documents as required;
- Transfer underwriting information from slips to individual front sheets to provide more efficient retrieval of information;
- Produce liability account monthly renewals report from S2000 and chase brokers for outstanding renewals;
- Produce liability account premium chasing reports and chase brokers for outstanding premiums;
- Produce ad hoc reports to aid liability account analysis and/or management reports as required;
- Keep appropriate records of all conversations with customers and/or insurers, or other relevant business contacts, in accordance with the firm’s procedures manual;
- Ensure that company procedures and systems are followed and maintained, as per procedures and compliance manuals;
- Attend liability energy/liability meetings.
- Supply underwriting assistant services to other underwriting teams when required
- Help drive forward good conduct for the business to deliver the best outcomes for customers / policyholders
- Understand all appropriate lines of escalation and the responsibilities of the PCRSG, UCSC, ExCo and Board for Conduct Risk

You are required to comply with the PRA and FCA conduct rules:

- Acting with honesty and integrity at all times
- Acting at all times with due care, skill and diligence
- Being open and honest with the FCA, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and all UK regulators at all times
- Always paying due regard to the interests of customers and always treat them honestly and fairly

Observing proper standards of market conduct at all times

**Profile**:

- Basic (Level 1) knowledge and understanding of:
Underlying Principles of Insurance;
- Legal Principles;
- Financial Services Authority rules and regulations;
- Lloyd’s regulations;
- Liability;
- Demonstrate clear understanding of all company specific procedures that relate to own role;
- Demonstrate growing understanding of the roles of colleagues and their relationships to the structure and business plans of the Firm.
- Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of policies, underwriting and related issues through formal and informal learning, both internally and externally to the firm.

Be aware of the potential risks facing the business within own job role and the controls that are in place to mitigate them; and report all significant changes in these risks, or the effectiveness of controls, to your line manager in a timely manner.
