Equipment Library Assistant
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join the Medical Equipment Library in Ysbyty Gwynedd. This is an important role meeting the needs of patients across the hospital by providing medical equipment which is working well, and ready to use. IV pumps are a good example - used to give medicines and fluids into patients’ veins. You will also help staff with queries, and signpost information and training for them when required. The Medical Equipment Library is the best of its kind in North Wales, and you will be part of a valuable service to patients.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply
The role is physically active and varied, delivering and collecting equipment for wards across the hospital, and making it ready to be used again. This involves checking that devices are working correctly, putting battery equipment on charge, and cleaning devices in line with Health Board policies. Some basic safety testing of returned equipment is also involved, including trouble shooting basic equipment problems and reporting faulty medical devices.
The Equipment Library offers a full service during office hours Monday to Friday. We are looking for someone to work 17.5 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday. You will usually be working with and under the direction of the Equipment Library Lead, but you need to be able to work well on your own in their absence.
We have some flexibility over the start time between 09:00 and 10:30am, which will be agreed with the successful applicant. You will be joining a positive and supportive team, who are committed to providing a good service.
If you relish a challenge, have a passion to help others or simply fancy a fresh start, then Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales, has all the right ingredients. The largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000, across North Wales. Enjoy being part of working with engaged leadership at all levels, and be assured we are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and are proud to welcome applicants under the “Disability Confident Employer” scheme.
