A major UK success story in the UK retail sector is recruiting a new Chief Accountant.This FTSE 100 listed business, which is highly profitable, is already a great place to work with big plans.The last 3 individuals in this role have progressed to aCFO position and 2 into Finance Director roles.This position is the perfect springboard providing the rounded experience need to set yourself up for that next job.

The finance department has evolved significantly over recent years, benefiting from excellent leadership, significant investment in the team and an ability to offer their team a variety of exciting challenges. They have high levels of staff retention, internalpromotions, and engagement, attracting new staff of the highest calibre.

This role oversees the Group team of 6 giving you exposure and a view of everything in this FTSE 100 Group.Each member of the finance team has an opportunity to put their stamp on things with the support of the senior leadership team.You will be involvedin automation, improving processes and procedures.

In this role you will help run the annual audit and preparation of the plc financial statements, you will be involved in board reporting and own reporting on hedge accounting and strategic investments.You will be heavily involved in acquisition accountingas well as acquisition integrations looking at systems and policies.Finally, you will manage coach and develop a fantastic group team.

- Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA
- Ideally trained in practice to Manager or Senior Manager level with exposure to large plc audits
- Will consider someone making their first move from practice to an industry role
