Liverpool, United Kingdom Homes for Students Full time

Homes for Students is one of the UK’s leading providers of student accommodation.

We are looking for a Strategic Insights Lead to join our expanding team. At the centre of our data strategy we have a simple goal, to gain deep insights into sector data to support our strategic decisions. This role is full time, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Our Strategic Insights Lead will bring university data into our analytics and insights functions to complement city data and wider accommodation and demographic data. The Strategic Insights Lead will be responsible for using data within the business and sector, and organising this data ecosystem into a library of thoughtful and enlightening pieces which shine a light on the link between the data points and provide deep insights in a simple way that can be understood by all, simplifying what can often be a complicated picture.

Using data from multiple sources across higher education, accommodation supply and demand, demographics, investments, planning, and historical internal data to generate actionable insights proactively - to guide decision-making throughout the business, increasing knowledge and understanding, and enhancing our credibility and profile externally with clients, universities, and the wider sector - reactively to answer queries that arise and provide meaningful insights that support business development, tenders, sales and marketing activity, strategic decisions internally, and our client base.

This role requires a unique blend of technical data expertise, strategic thinking, leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to simplify the complex to effectively harness the power of the data.

You’ll establish an insights library, champion best practice, standardisation of information and outputs, and connect the dots across a broad range of data sets.

You will be instrumental in managing our insight projects and reports from conception to completion and will proactively look for opportunities to enhance the output. You will be responsible for attending meetings, ‘listening’ to sector trends by taking an interest in the sector narrative and themes, testing theoretical models aligned with our business and clients’ goals, and you will be naturally curious about the city markets, sector outlook, Higher Education, and the trends being seen.

**Major Duties**:

- Build up and develop a library of data and reports that can be accessed by all stakeholders.
- Proactively create and deliver reports and insights to the business, clients, and partners.
- Respond to reactive requests for market insights, pulling on datasets that exist to compile reports at short notice.

- Support the wider team with market insight, trend analysis, and projections.
- Maintain Tableau/Data visualisations and make suggestions for improvements and amendments.
- Support roll out of analytical models to key stakeholders as required.
- Continuously explore new approaches to data analysis and trend monitoring, support best practice in data analytics to enhance the overall knowledge and skill-level of stakeholders.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and extend the availability and effective use of data to inform decisions.
- Manage the organisation's proactive reporting library and act as the lead for trend analysis.

- Experience of using dashboards using BI software.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, and a thoughtful approach to understanding of the data and its meaning.
