Job Introduction
BBC Young Reporter and BBC STEM are young outreach project delivered by the BBC Academy. A team based across Birmingham, Salford and London produce and deliver live and online skills events and workshops with schools, colleges and youth organisations across the UK.
The team are helped by over 250 BBC staff volunteers, who share their skills and knowledge with young people. These volunteers come from every part of the BBC. The team also were responsible for recruiting and training the staff volunteers for the Share Your Story schools tour as part of BBC100.

Main Responsibilities
The Production Co-ordinator provides logístical and co-ordination support to the production team on one or more productions, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

As a production co-ordinator you will:
1. Work in partnership with colleagues to deliver outstanding, distinctive learning events and help realise outreach ambitions within operational and financial constraints.

2. Administer staff volunteering for BBC Young Reporter, BBC STEM and young engagement projects, including administration, recruitment and support across all BBC divisions.

3. Play an active role in maintaining a professional pan-BBC relationships with stakeholders and volunteers.

4. Ensures that any rights issues are identified and recorded.

5. Contribute to and maintain a creative and collaborative culture.

We’re looking for enthusiastic and flexible individuals with a passion for outreach with strong organisational and logístical skills as well as knowledge of working with young people.

Our small teams are extremely busy so you’ll be used to working without supervision, relying on your initiative, and you will be a key team member of the team with the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues. You’ll be able to manage a range of projects with conflicting demands and tight deadlines. The post will cover the whole range of PC duties and there is an expectation that the work may involve some early mornings/late evenings, travel and at times overnight stays. Experience of using BBC finance systems is desirable, but not essential.

1. Demonstrable experience of working in a co-ordinating role

2. Experience of delivering projects on time and on budget and of coordinating deliverables for productions

3. Excellent organisational and planning skills - able to schedule and prioritise people and activities to meet operational deadlines.

4. Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of contacts.

5. Business and finance skills - able to prepare, manage and/or monitor specific production resource plans and budgets

6. Knowledge of the BBC and the wider industry
