About the Role

Mackenzie Jones is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Product Development Coordinator to join our team. As a Product Development Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the development of new products for retailers, working closely with the Senior Buyer and Brand Manager to ensure timely and successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Critical Path Management: Work with and manage critical paths and key dates to ensure timely product development and launch.
  • Sample Management: Manage samples from Product Development through to Production, including chasing samples from factories and suppliers.
  • Liaison with Suppliers: Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes and sample dates each season, ensuring timely and cost-effective product development.
  • Product Information Management: Obtain and chase product information, costings, and other relevant data to support product development.
  • Meeting Coordination: Set up rooms for product development and buying meetings, ensuring the required product samples are available and displayed, and action points are noted and followed up.
  • Product Information System Management: Maintain relevant product information on the NPD system on a day-to-day basis.
  • Communication: Communicate with all relevant departments in the business in the development process, from Quality Control to Marketing.
  • Competitor Analysis: Conduct occasional competitor shops with the Buyer and complete competitor reports.
  • Administrative Support: Collect, unpack, and distribute department post, and liaise with marketing colleagues regarding show samples.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 2 years' experience in an administrative/support role within a Buying/Product Development environment managing a critical path, samples, and developing new products.
  • Far East Sourcing Experience: Experience in Far East sourcing and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise extensively with China.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to work in a structured and methodical manner and to deadlines.
