We wish to appoint new Trust Grade Registrar (ST3+) colleague to join our Gastroenterology service at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT).
The post is based across both acute sites. Our inpatient ward is on the Cheltenham General site with a specialist 18 bed unit along with some responsibility for outlying wards. We also have a daily presence “Gastroenterologist of the Day” on the Gloucester site seeing acute referrals and running an emergency afternoon “bleed” endoscopy list for acute patients. There will be opportunities to attend clinic and to start endoscopy training. There will also be a commitment to the acute medical “take”
In the Gastroenterology Department, we have monthly Morbidity & Mortality meetings. Our Trust has a well-established framework for clinical governance that incorporates our clinical audit program. We are all expected to take part in developing clinical audit activities within the department to achieve clinical governance objectives in our agreed Divisional and Trust clinical governance programs.
We are a large organisation providing acute services from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in Gloucester and Cheltenham General Hospital to a population of 652,475* in Gloucestershire as well as caring for patients from surrounding counties and beyond.
The Trust workforce is almost 8,000 strong and our caring and dedicated staff are recognised as providing good and outstanding patient-centred, high-quality emergency, elective and specialist care across a range of clinical areas.
If successful you will join a supportive and professional Gastroenterology team of 14 Consultants whom are dedicated to providing quality patient care. You will work closely with the ward nursing teams and the administration teams that are based across the Trust.
