**Purpose**

We are looking for a competitive retail Sales Assistant to work closely with the Manager to develop the customer experience within the Brewery shop in the heart of the Hall & Woodhouse Brewery Visitor Centre. The Sales Assistant duties will include selling, up-selling, restocking and merchandising. As this is a senior role, duties will also include being till trained to the level that enables the opening and closure of the business. The goal is to provide high class customer service and to increase business growth and revenue through sales maximisation.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Maintaining outstanding visual merchandising standards
- Assist with the sales process by maintaining a fully stocked shop
- Establish customers’ needs and wants
- Recommend and display items that match customer needs
- Undertake stock management such as stock counts and investigations
- Manage point-of-sale processes
- Actively be involved in the receiving of deliveries
- Keep up to date with product information
- Accurately describe and up-sell Badger products and Visitor Centre facilities/experiences
- Open and closure of business
- Cash handling
- Follow the Hall & Woodhouse values (Ambition, Dedication, Integrity, Kindness and Teamwork
- Assisting with Hall & Woodhouse events where required

**Key Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours**
- Proven working experience in retail sales
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service focus
- Friendly, helpful, confident, engaging and team player personality
- To have the ability to be flexible during business development and growth
- Basic administration skills
- Previous experience in cash handling and business opening and closures - not essential
