**Hunter Mason are supporting a fantastic company to recruit for a Assistant Project Manager.**

Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager who reports to the Director of Estates, accept delegated responsibility for management and delivery of capital and other projects while complying with current Estates and Financial Procedures:
1, Manage a portfolio low to medium value capital projects, and major maintenance schemes establishing project plans from inception to completion taking into account all relevant statutory and Local Authority requirements, establish targets with respectto project delivery; monitor and report on progress against these targets.

2, Manage the preparation of briefs with internal client departments, managing the preparation of drawings and outline specifications, informed by the completion of land and building surveys and the preparation of reports, where appropriate, in order tobrief external consultants or to gain appreciation of the user departmental requirements and the proposals. Take into consideration any environmental issues with regard to the projects managed, identify and implement methodologies and procedures to manageand minimise the risks identified.

3, Assist in the preparation of accurate project estimates and budget costs for schemes including Faculty relocation, building work, change of accommodation use, service installations, furniture and fittings, fees, VAT etc. Assist in the production of feasibilitystudies for the College Leadership Team.

4, Provide timely reports on projects performance, based around time quality and costs and communicate with the client and all relevant stakeholders as and when required to update them throughout the life of the project.

5, Assist with the management of the decision making process by carrying out all necessary liaison and negotiations with all parties involved ensuring value for money Manage and deliver externally funded projects ensuring they stay on cost and programme.Report back to external funding organisations, e.g. DfE/OFS (Department for Education, Office for Students) on agreed milestones, spend profiles, programmes and any other required project metrics.

6, Review drawings and specifications for tender and contract documentation using AutoCAD and preferably NBS.

7,Liaising with the Purchasing department during the procurement process, generally using approved framework consortia or through utilising competitive tendering processes as outlined in our Procurement policy and the Find a Tender website Undertake competitiveprocurement processes for smaller projects in line with Government and our procurement rules.

8,Carry out contract administration including financial management and settlement of final accounts, liaising with external consultants where employed, reviewing all payment requests made or due in relation to the project. Employ robust change control processand be responsible for reporting movements in cost and scope at the appropriate level and seeking approvals as appropriate within the project governance framework.

9,Contribute in our internal Project Steering Group process for individual projects and carry out timely and effective management reporting. Create effective project communication plans to share with the elements of the College Group who are likely to beimpacted by any construction works. Support College Leadership Team in the delivery of strategic change across the College Group.

10, Assist in the production of Planning and Building Control submissions, together with the discharge of other statutory and legislative requirements.

11,Ensuring an audit trail is maintained, the production of record drawings of projects to be uploaded onto Estates AutoCAD archive together with appropriate data for entry in the Estates asset register.

12,Ensure all Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) regulations are fully complied with. Ensure CDM Regulations are followed, that client responsibilities are undertaken.
