In particular, at different points in the academic year, the postholder’s priorities will change with more time being spent on academic support/student support as appropriate.

In line with the Centre’s projected growth, in due course the postholder’s duties may move exclusively to the Academic Services or Student Services area

**Legal Status**

You must be eligible to work in, and travel freely to and from the UK without employer sponsorship.

Appropriate DBS disclosure will be required prior to confirmation of appointment

Malvern International is currently in a period of rapid growth and is looking to appoint an Academic and Student Support Officer for our NCUK Partnership.
- **JOB PURPOSE**

The postholder is a central part of our Centre team, providing our international students with an excellent service throughout their time at the International Study Centre, as they access preparatory courses to allow entry to NCUK’s universities throughout the UK and around the world. Friendly and approachable, the postholder will assist existing & potential students, staff, colleagues from NCUK and Malvern International responding to all enquiries and requests.

**ROLE**:

- The principal focus of the role is to support an excellent student experience and to ensure a welcoming and supportive environment is provided for all our students in all aspects of their stay, with particular focus on maximising student satisfaction by:

- Assisting students in their learning journey, and contributing to the provision and monitoring of pastoral, academic and university progression support which supports our students to realise their potential, including the identification of areas which could be improved within these support structures and processes;
- Dealing sensitively and effectively with student queries, problems and complaints; knowing when to escalate to the Academic Manager;
- Supporting the Academic Manager, Compliance Manager and other staff in ensuring that we comply with all UKVI and University requirements with regards to attendance monitoring and compliance;
- Delivering high quality academic administration support to staff and students at our Centre;
- Supporting the functions and processes associated with the effective and efficient delivery, monitoring and assessment of academic programmes to required quality standards, including the effective maintenance of student records, including attendance, progression and grades.

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:

- Answer all student enquiries, requests for assistance and feedback in a helpful and friendly manner, following company and NCUK procedures and referring students on to others if necessary;
- Ensure that all student data is correctly maintained and updated on the student databases and run reports as required;
- Monitor student attendance according to company, UKVI and NCUK regulations and report issues with regards to individual student attendance to the Academic Manager, and when required to NCUK
- Follow up with students who are experiencing living and studying challenges whilst at the centre, and as part of our team provide solutions for these students, and signpost to Malvern support structures as appropriate
- Assist with student enrolments, liaising directly with the student or agent as required.
- Support students through their University progression journey in the UK, including scheduling of university visits and supporting UCAS procedures for NCUK students;
- Assist with the implementation of all aspects of assessment, examination and award processes in an accurate and timely manner;
- Effectively liaise with colleagues in relation to the co-ordination of academic timetables and the availability of teaching space;
