Dorchester, United Kingdom Dorset Council Full time

**About The Role**:
Be part of the Action Van sports outreach team that provides exciting and engaging activities to children and young people across Dorset. We are looking for sports and physical activity leaders who, like us, want young people to be active and healthy and to enjoy taking part in sport. The service helps deliver the Council’s priorities by providing a service that helps to build stronger and healthier communities.

We are a team of sports coaches, sports leaders and fitness instructors that all want to keep young people playing and enjoying sport. The role of the Action Van Sports Coach involves travelling to youth clubs, holiday play schemes and /or other events to lead sports or activity sessions. Working with one or more colleague the Sports Coach will run or support the team to deliver the sessions. They will work in different settings and will have the opportunity to work with others and learn from them as well as share their own ideas and knowledge.

The Action Van is one of the services provided by the Sports Development Unit and (from time to time) there may be opportunities to be involved with other projects that this department manages.

In house staff training is organised once a year, where the team come together to share good ideas and best practice. Staff are required to undertake online training and there are other opportunities for training offered from time to time.

**Further Information**:
This is a casual role and work will be offered when there is demand from customers.

This post requires significant travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.

This role is UK based and we will need to establish your Right to Work as part of the appointment process.
