Role: Accounts Assistant

Our client is a growing and successful business based in Chorley who are looking to bring a Purchase Ledger Clerk into their close-knit team. Based in the service sector, the organisation has grown steadily over the past 5 years.
Working alongside the Transactional manager, You will be a key member of the Purchase Ledger Team within a friendly, fun and hardworking Finance Department. Your main responsibilities will include building excellent relationships with suppliers and the internal business ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger processes.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Ensure that invoices are reconciled, checked to PO's and agreed buy prices on a monthly basis and at the latest by the 5th working day after receipt of the invoice
- Ensure reconciliation with outward billing
- Ensure all expected credit notes are received and processed
- Ensure month end deadlines are met
- Completion of Supplier statement reconciliations are completed in line with month end restraints
- Review fortnightly payment runs to ensure invoices reconciled and payments are as per the agreed terms, and ensure that they are completed on time
- Escalate with Procurement 'problem suppliers'
- Purchase Ledger clerks are responsible for dealer, recharge invoices and self-bills
- Ensure bank transactions are posted on a daily basis to assist with cash forecasts.
- Ensure Invoices received are posted daily
- Monitor the shared mailboxes within finance and the SLA'S
