General Assistant

**Job Purpose**
General Assistants work in a team and work well under pressure and in new environments on a daily basis. All staff will be required to work in all areas of the business, bond store, equipment pack, dishwash, production, warehouse and despatch. Dependent on operational requirements and supervise the staff screening process (currently within the COVID guidelines).

**Knowledge and Skills**:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in catering (desirable).
- The ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Excellent communication, team work and customer service skills.
- Good literacy skills, verbal written and spoken.
- Operational awareness, understand of HACCP, COSHH, DDA, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety and DFT requirements. (Role specific)
- Fork lift driving duties (if applicable)
- In date CPC & Driving License. (if applicable)
**Work Related Circumstances**
Must be flexible and able and willing to work extra hours and weekends, bank holidays and evenings when required to meet seasonal, event and visitor demands. Consider shift start and finish times and transport links to site, living within reasonable travelling distance to the site may be a consideration.
**Physical/Health Requirements**
Must be able to access all public areas of the property including stairwells, confined spaces, heights etc. Work may involve reasonable lifting of heavy / bulky objects within the published health & safety guidelines on manual handling and or food safety requirements.
**Essential Requirements**
Must wear a uniform to specified standards including a visible name badge at all times. Complete all relevant paperwork within specified standards and timeframes. Ensure all specified training COSHH, HACCP, DFT and food safety standards are adhered to at all times. Complete any other duties as requested by management.

**Bond Store - Key Accountabiltiies and Responsibilities**
1. To check all products prior to packing.
2. To ensure all airline products are packed / loaded to specification.
3. Pack carts to the required standard and in accordance with passenger numbers.
4. Ensuring stock levels are maintained to the required levels.
5. Stock is rotated to get maximum shelf life.
6. Compliance to HMRC regulations
7. Adhere to inflight services security compliance
8. Ensuring production schedules are met.
9. Adhere to clean as you go standard
10. Record, report breakages i.e. china, glass
11. Carry out final search and screening function
12. Regulary lifting weights between 12-15kg, includes (repetative overhead lifting)
13. Adhere to Unit safety measures in place.
14. Adhere to inflight services security compliance.
15. Adhere to clean as you go standard.
16. Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.
17. Comply with all unit Corporate, Social, Responsibility initiatives.
18. Any other duties as requested by your manager.
**Cleaning - Key Accountabiltiies and Responsibilities**
1. To clean each area of the unit in accordance to the cleaning schedule.
2. Manage chemical to ensure the correct dosage is used.
3. Ensure all chemicals are kept locked in the chemical cupboard when not in use.
4. Cleaning up any spills immediately to avoid slips.
5. Always put out the correct signage to inform staff of cleaning and the potential risk.
6. Ensure each area of the unit has a monthly deep clean in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
7. Ensure timely replenishment of food hygiene items i.e. hairnets, beard snoods, hand wash soap, sanitizers
8. Adhere to clean as you go standard
9. Adhere to inflight services security compliance
10. Carry out final search and screening function
11. Adhere to Unit safety measures in place.
12. Adhere to inflight services security compliance.
13. Adhere to clean as you go standard.
14. Interact with, colleagues, customers and clients in a professional manner at all times.

**Dish Wash - Key Accountabiltiies and Responsibilities**
1. To dispose of all waste in the appropriate equipment provided.
2. Load catering equipment into the machine as per training.
3. Ensure wash machine is running to temperature.
4. Make sure the machine is dosing chemicals as per guidelines.
5. After washing check equipment for damage and cleanliness.
6. Record, report breakages i.e. china, glass
7. Ensure supplier demands are met on equipment requirements.
8. Clean airline equipment as per customer requirements.
9. Adhere to clean as you go standard
10. Carry out final search and screening function
11. Adhere to inflight services security compliance
