**Head of Supply and Procurement**

Leading a team of buyers, procurement coordinators and administrators, you will strategically oversee the supply of inventory, resources and services and lead the procurement function of the Newt in Somerset.

You will be responsible for developing and overseeing the the sourcing strategy and transactional pay-to-procure activities, with the primary focus being on the retail commerce proposition. You will also provide centralised procurement support across all other departments from hospitality to production and innovation.

This role reports directly into the Director of Commerce, therefore the ability to manage and build relationships with the Head of Logistics, Commercial Manager and other Heads of Department in order to streamline processes is crucial.

**Ecommerce and Retail**

The E-commerce & Retail division is a revenue-generating part of the business which is behind developing, promoting and growing The Newt in Somerset as a fine-quality food & beverage brand. Offering a best-in-class experience is of upmost importance. This is achieved through a full vertically-integrated consumer proposition and operation which offers tight quality control across all phases of product delivery.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To delivery supply strategy that is efficient, resilient to disruptive events and handles risks through mitigation planning
- Ownership of the whole pay-to-procure process
- To be a key stakeholder of the efficient inventory management by managing robust replenishment process
- To consistently maintain defined service level targets for the quality and on-time supply for the organisation
- Strategic sourcing:

- supply specification development and coordination
- developing and implementing category strategy alongside stakeholders across company functions
- supplier selection
- RFx management
- negotiations of tiered costs, rebates and lead times
- change management
- risk and contingency management of supply
- To oversee sourcing support: market & spend analytics, supplier profiling, contract administration
- Supplier development, relationships & performance management, contract management
- Policies and procedures development and implementation
- To oversee operational purchasing across organisation and to ensure adherence and compliance to policies & procedures
- To oversee effective setup and administration of the centralised procurement software system; to ensure efficient procurement administration support is provided to business stakeholders, including comprehensive reporting.
- To manage effective accounts payable processing including invoice processing, payments and reconciliation, bill auditing, time & expense auditing.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Qualification in business administration, supply chain management, marketing, operations, project management
- 5+ years of proven track record experience in senior supply chain management or procurement management.
- Experience of successful leadership in running diverse teams with high degree of delegation and autonomy
- Excellent negotiating and contract management skills and high commercial acumen
- High numerical literacy, data-driven approach in decision-making via effective measurement and assessment of operational performance, focusing on cost efficiencies
- Proactive with great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and coordinate with team members and stakeholders at all levels

**Optional experience as a bonus factor**:

- High preference for experience in retail supply and procurement of cold-chain / fresh food or other fast-perishable goods.
- Experience working in high-volume transactional B2C environments, either Ecommerce or/and bricks & mortar retail
