**Job Overview**:
Looking for a new role where you can make a difference every day? We’re looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Ashford Road Young People Services in Maidstone.

£22,983.00 per annum pro rata, working 40 hours per week full time, plus 25 days Annual Leave pro rata, Pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.

**Shift Pattern**

Early - 7.30am - 3.30pm

Mid shift - 11.00am - 7.00pm

Late - 1.30pm - 9.30pm

All shifts are Monday to Sunday, including weekends and bank holidays

The Young People’s Support Worker will work within Look Ahead’s flexible supported accommodation and floating support for Children in Care, Care Leavers and Homeless 16/17-year olds. The role manages the initial period from when a child or young person is first referred to ensuring a smooth arrival and transition to planning their exit from the service including identifying suitable long-term accommodation and managing their expectations.

This hybrid role will also work across the West Kent area flexibly providing floating support for those young people living in their own accommodation and ensure that they are enabled to develop their resilience and independence. Support is provided within their homes or at the office dependent on the individual's requirements. Maidstone supports 16 customers across 2 sites and operates an emergency bed within the office based building.

**Skills, Knowledge and Experience**

In this role you will be Supporting young people into independent living. You will have a case load (which is determined based on staff numbers) but you will be supporting all customers in the absence of any other team members.

You will help they young people to gain Employment, support them to gain and maximise their benefits, help them to budget, and signpost them to specialist external agencies for support.

**Essential**

**Desirable**
- Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or experience in the social care/charity sector

- Full Driving Licence and access to use of vehicle

**Key Responsibilities**

- Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals

- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
- Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
- Empower customers (where relevant) to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
- Developing productive relationships with partner organisations to improve service outcomes
- Demonstrate strong commitment to the functioning of the staff team and to support colleagues in providing a high level of service and safety to customers
