**Job Purpose**

To assist in the day-to-day operations of a busy jet engine workshop and provide a proactive and efficient service. The role requires a flexible approach and the ability to multitask is essential.

**Main Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Assist in the day-to-day workshop activities and general site activities as directed by the Workshop Manager.
- Assist in the movement of aircraft engines, engine parts and engine tooling as required.
- Assist in the unloading and loading of engines plus moving engines around the site as required.
- Assist in the close up and dispatch of engines as directed by the Workshop Manager.
- Assist in the control and disposal of waste products in line with company and environmental regulations.
- Keep a clean and tidy working environment in the workshop while optimising space utilisation.
- Perform some site cleaning tasks when required ensuring work and storage areas are clean and well maintained at all times.
- Look for site layout improvements to maximise productivity and minimize cost.
- Ensure the best level of service is offered and maintained for both internal and external customers.
- General upkeep of all company vehicles and equipment.
- Driving of company vehicles (ie:company forklifts, towing equipment and road vehicles).
- Assist the stores department during peak times or to cover holidays and/or sickness (training will be given).
- Any other reasonable duties as instructed by the senior management team.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Computer literate (where needed training will be given on the company computer system).
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Must be flexible and willing to move between all work areas within GT Engine Services as required.
- Must be a team player.
- Previous experience of working in a busy workshop environment is desirable, aviation experience a big plus.
- Must be able to identify problems, undertake corrective actions or propose alternative solutions.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
- Forklift Licence an advantage (where needed training will be given).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
