TSL Lighting is one of the UK's premier independent Lighting and Rigging rental companies, offering first class equipment and services to the Live Event industry.

**Reporting Line Manager: Managing Director**
This is a senior leadership role that requires a high level of involvement in the delivery of the company’s services and standards, coupled with the management and leadership elements of the position. The role encompasses the following main areas of responsibility:
- Overseeing, managing and developing all operational staff.
- Continually upholding and enhancing company standards, quality, and procedures for equipment, staff and services.
- Overseeing company-wide health and safety
- Overall management responsibility for the warehouse, technical services, transport, IT, facilities and asset management teams based at the Basingstoke Equipment Facility.
**Specific Roles and Responsibilities**
- Provide direct line management to senior operational staff and oversee the management of the company’s premises and warehouse employees.
- Constantly evaluate and manage the training and development needs of operational staff through internal training and external courses and ensure all individual training records are kept up to date. Ensure that all line managers are continuing to develop and manage their teams
- Manage staffing levels, overtime requirements and temporary labour needs.
- Be responsible for the company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensure the company is health and safety compliant and that we follow all current legislation.
- Ensure all staff are appropriately trained in Health and Safety, including Manual Handling, COSHH, Fire Procedures and the reporting and recording of hazards, accidents and incidents in accordance with RIDDOR.
- Take active involvement in the development and writing of the company’s procedures, policies, risk assessments and practices.
- Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the company’s buildings and facilities.
- Manage, develop, implement and control operational systems to ensure that all equipment dispatched is prepared and tested in accordance with the company’s procedures and policies and to the company’s established standards.
- Ensure the operations team maintains standards of presentation and functionality of rental equipment, in accordance with the company’s preparation procedures and as directed. This includes visually, electrically and operationally.
- Take active and proactive involvement in the continual evolution of the warehouse layout and workflow of equipment through the operational spaces. Lead a process of continual improvement and efficiency review.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks and develop contingency plans for potential disruptions.
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance and continually maintain and develop company procedures, processes, policies and operational standards, identifying and implementing operational best practices to improve efficiency, streamlining processes and workflows where possible
- Continually evaluate TSL’s current operational technology systems and assist / advise the IT manager about ways to improve or enhance operational efficiency.
- Have an oversight of inventory control systems and provide strategic advice regarding stock levels to the Company Directors and Projects team.
- Ensure the responsibilities and procedures required for testing, inspection and quality control are enforced and maintained by trained, accountable members of staff.
- Manage stock check processes on all rental and sales stock items, as scheduled and as required.
- Oversee the safe storage of equipment and materials
- Provide and coordinate out of hours support through the companies call out service whilst maintaining 24 hours support.
- Monitor customer feedback and address any operational issues affecting customer satisfaction and implement strategies to enhance customer experience.
- Facilitate communication between different departments and act as a liaison between the Directors and the wider operational team.
**Skills & Qualities Required**:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional management and leadership abilities, adept at leading teams.
- Knowledge of current Health and Safety best practice, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification preferred.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes in working hours and schedules.
- Familiarity with lighting/technical equipment is advantageous.
- Proficient and experienced using IT systems (Google Suite/Inventory Management Software).
- Numerate with basic mathematical skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive and self-motivated, capable of working independently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
