The SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Transformation Lead will play a pivotal role in driving the improvement and transformation of SEND services. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of SEND policies, practices, and challenges and recent experience of Area SEND inspection.

**Key Receptibilities**:

- Lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan for SEND transformation, aligned with national and local priorities.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to prepare and submit a Self Evaluation Form (SEF) for Area SEND inspection, providing evidence of the effectiveness and impact of SEND provision and initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and innovation in SEND provision, ensuring that services are inclusive, accessible, and of high quality.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders, elected members, and partner organisations on SEND legislation, policy, and best practice.
- Drive forward initiatives to improve the identification, assessment, and support for children and young people with SEND, promoting early intervention and prevention strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND transformation initiatives, using data and evidence to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with multi-agency teams to foster effective partnership working and joint commissioning of services for children and young people with SEND.
- Support the development of staff capacity and capability in SEND provision, delivering training and professional development opportunities as required.
- Represent the local authority at regional and national forums related to SEND, contributing to policy development and sharing best practice with peers.
- Play a key role in preparing for the Ofsted and CQC Area SEND Inspection, ensuring that systems, processes, and documentation are in place to support a successful inspection outcome.

**Qualifications**:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., education, social work, psychology), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Evidence of continued professional, managerial and personal development in relevant professional area.

**Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Recent experience preparing for or leading AREA SEND inspection.
- Direct experience as a senior leader in SEND services.
- Strong track record in delivering transformation.
- Substantial experience working within the field of SEND, preferably within a local government or education setting.
- Experience preparing for or leading an Ofsted/CQC Area SEND inspection. Familiarity with Ofsted and CQC inspection frameworks and requirements, particularly in relation to SEND provision.
- Demonstrable track record of leading and delivering transformational change initiatives, with a focus on improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and build positive relationships.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and evidence to drive decision-making and evaluate the impact of interventions.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, facilitating partnership working and joint problem-solving
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
