Are you passionate about children’s publishing?
We're looking for a talented Senior Editor to join our dynamic Fiction team. This role is ideal for someone with at least three years’ experience in a children’s editorial department.
As Senior Editor, you'll have the opportunity to seek out and acquire the most exciting, distinctive and diverse talent. You will be working across a wide range of books - from young fiction to the hottest YA - and will have the chance to think outside the box and look beyond traditional channels to publish and champion books and authors with a clear vision, creatively, commercially and profitably.
You will be working closely with authors and illustrators externally as well as our talented design, production and sales teams.
Our Fiction team is at the start of an exciting period of growth and we'd love you to be part of that
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Develop and commission new books and series
Find, evaluate and champion agented and un-agented manuscripts
Work across structural edits on a variety of fun projects
Develop positive relationships with new and existing authors and agents
Attend industry events, when suitable, for networking, research and sourcing new talent
Work closely with our brilliant design team to help bring each and every story to life
Liaise with our sales and marketing department to create engaging promotional materials and exciting marketing campaigns
Implement, maintain and help develop the house style
You are:
An exceptional editor with a passion for commercial fiction
An experienced publishing professional
Detailed-oriented, with impeccable spelling and grammar
Comfortable with using MS Office, InDesign and Adobe Acrobat on a daily basis
Able to prioritise your workload and meet tight deadlines
A strong communicator and great at building relationships
A driven, ambitious and positive person
Someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment
A great team worker, who enjoys creative collaboration
