We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operations Lead - Youth to join our team at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG).

You will manage, co-ordinate and deliver Information, Advice and Guidance services for young tenants (through a casework model) and advocate on behalf them to ensure their interests are represented. To manage, co-ordinate and deliver detached youth work working closely with internal colleagues to work with young people engaged in anti-social behaviour in identified localities across Wythenshawe. To enhance the customer experience and achieve meaningful outcomes for young tenants through an effective, locality based, targeted youth support offer to become responsible citizens and help sustain their tenancies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver excellent youth services for Wythenshawe Community Housing Group
- Develop mechanisms, encourage and support volunteers at in accordance with best practice guidelines for supporting volunteers.
- To lead on designated curricular areas including participation, ensuring that the young people who use our services are given the best possible information in order for them to make informed choices.
- To manage substantial resources for projects across Wythenshawe and to actively seek additional external funding to support the growth and development of youth work and positive activities for young people.
- To have responsibility and a strategic role in key partnerships, including with the voluntary sector and within a multi agency setting.
- To contribute to the delivery of self assessment, tools for inspection and scrutiny
- To be responsible for project planning for curriculum delivery including targeted group work and issue based work with young people.
- To keep informed of local/national youth issues which affect young people.
- Minimum NVQ Level 4 Youth and Community Work or equivalent relevant qualification
- Experience of promoting and developing personal, social and educational youth work programmes and opportunities with and for young people
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting young people’s lives and implementing appropriate youth work programmes
- Experience of leading and managing a diverse youth and community work including targeted support
- Experience of performance management of staff
- Experience of using and working in various facilities and building positive relationships with colleagues in those centres
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection legislation, policy and practice
- To compile timely, accurate and high-quality reports
