**About the Team**

As one of the most culturally diverse areas in the UK, the needs of our residents, businesses and stakeholders can be varied and complex. You’ll be part of a front line facing, multi-disciplinary team who tackle a range of issues including noise, statutory nuisance, waste and fly-tipping, anti-social behaviour and other environmental and social community concerns.

As part of the team you will be undertaking a wide range of activities, and no two days are the same. This includes engagement with all aspects of the community, from education, front line patrolling of our parks and housing estates, as well as undertaking formal enforcement including taking prosecution action when required.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1.You’ll be required to promote behaviour change through encouraging residents, the general public and businesses to proactively keep their neighbourhood safe and clean.

2.You will be tasked with delivering a range of services on behalf of the council, within a framework of legislation, statutory instruments, codes of practice, corporate policies, local systems, audit schemes, policies, guidance and good professional practice, including inspections, surveys, visits, investigations, samples, monitoring standards, investigating complaints and service requests, gathering evidence, undertaking interviews, taking statements and determining appropriate action.

3.You will be visible to the public during your work shifts and proactively undertaking intelligence gathering, networking, CCTV monitoring and uniformed patrolling activities.

**Your Skills**:
1.You will be confident in your approach, and take proportionate enforcement action in cases of non-compliance. If needed, you will lead or assist in the preparation for legal proceedings.

2.As a self-starter, you’ll be able to work alone with little supervision. You’ll also be able an expert communicator, able to explain issues and concepts clearly.

**Essential for the Role**:
1.You must be prepared to work morning, day, evening or night shifts on any day of the week, including Bank Holidays.

2.You must have a full driving licence in the UK.

3.DBS check is required - Baseline Personnel Security Standard
