Production Line Leader

**Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off**

**Role Summary**:
To lead and train the line team to deliver an effective and efficient packing operation on a day to day basis and ensure that quality and Health and Safety standards are achieved and maintained.

To contribute to the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the line and production team as defined and amended from time to time by the Production Manager and the needs of the business.

To actively seek a continuous improvement environment, minimising downtime and maximising line performance without compromising on quality.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Ensure your line runs effectively and efficiently, finished product meets customer quality expectations and products are packed on time
- Ensure machines are kept in good working order, reporting any issues to the engineering team
- Ensure Quality Service Levels are maintained
- Maintain and drive quality standards with a ‘right first time’ attitude/mentality
- Maintain a good working relationship with quality control personnel
- Maintain and drive all compliance standards across the line
- Be a champion for ‘what good looks like’
- Minimise and accurately record packaging waste
- Maintain packaging traceability
- Ensure accurate recording of; WIP in, WIP out, back to stores, class 2/3 and waste
- Ensure accurate recording of downtime and labour used
- Ensure any additional costing information is recorded; extra sorters, extra
processing etc.
- Ensure relevant/correct job category is recorded
- Maintain CAYG (clean as you go) standards and ensure adherence to other internal
hygiene policies/standards
- Ensure correct PPE is being worn by all employees on the line
- Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to and all near misses, accidents
and hazards are reported in a timely fashion and hazards/near misses are corrected
and any unsafe behaviour addressed accordingly
- Ensure employees on the line are inducted and given full training to do their role safely and efficiently
- Ensure effective management of resources and skills
- Raise any productivity/performance concerns with employees to the shift manager

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Experience of working in a quality focused role
- Knowledge of Top seal, Flow wrap or punnet line machinery would be preferable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
