**Job Title: Interim Head of Care for Children's Home**

**Duration: 6 months**

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career and gain experience in overseeing an Ofsted regulated home, while maintaining the highest standards of care and safeguarding for vulnerable young people. The main responsibilities of the role will include:

- Ensuring that the home is operating in line with Ofsted standards, preparing for and hosting Ofsted inspections, maintaining the highest standards of care and safeguarding for vulnerable young people
- Leading, managing, mentoring and developing the staff team in the home, setting clear objectives, and monitoring performance to ensure that they are working effectively and efficiently
- Managing the finances, resources, and budget for the home, providing regular financial reports to the senior management team, and ensuring that all spending is in line with the home's budget
- Building and maintaining relationships with external agencies, including local authorities, Ofsted, CQC, and other stakeholders
- NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Experience as a Registered Manager in a social care context, with children's services experience preferable
- Experience in managing an Ofsted-rated children's home, preparing for and hosting inspections, and experience of working in a challenging environment
- Experience in managing a team and creating a positive work culture
- Good understanding of legislation, regulations, and standards in relation to children's social care
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- A DBS check will be required
