**Job Role**: Prison Resettlement Worker

**Salary**: £22,887 - £23,812 per annum

**Hours**:37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

**Contract type**:Fixed Term Contract (Ending September 2023)

**Location**: Our office is based in Kingswood however this role will involve travel around South Gloucestershire

**Additional information**:

- Essential to have drivers license and access to car that can be used for business purposes

**The Role**:
This role is within the Criminal Justice team, you will need to work closely with the police and other homelessness prevention services and organizations to help prison leavers.
This role will need the applicant to deliver a person-centred, wrap-around outreach support service, actively case-working complex needs and vulnerable housed individuals to prevent rough sleeping amongst prison leavers. To work in partnership with identified Prison Resettlement services, CRC and probation services, police, homelessness prevention services and specialist housing support providers. This role will be based in Kingswood Housing Team office and entails travel to other South Gloucestershire areas with some remote home working

**Responsibilities include**:

- Engaging proactively with South Gloucestershire homelessness prevention team and Registered Providers and Private sector landlords to identify appropriate short and long term housing interventions enabling access and sustainment of accommodation.
- To undertake South Gloucestershire Duty To Refer assessments for individuals leaving prison prior to release and to create Personal Housing Plans
- Engaging proactively with HMP Bristol, HMP Eastwood Park, HMP Leyhill, HMP Cardiff and other prison resettlement services, to establish effective partnership working and provide pathways of support for people who are at risk of homelessness upon release.
- Engaging proactively with identified individuals referred to the service through South Gloucestershire LA homelessness prevention services, prison resettlement teams and local area criminal justice services.

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- A valid UK driving license and access to own vehicle - business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
- Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or people with complex needs
- Experience and knowledge of working in the criminal justice system
