Here at Serco, we are looking for a Passive Fire Maintenance Officer to join our growing team at Darent Valley Hospital. The site is a 478-bed, acute district general hospital in Dartford, Kent, serving a local population of over 500,000 people.

As the Passive Fire Maintenance Officer, you will provide ongoing passive fire safety maintenance and contract support to the building fabric team and the wider compliance and operational team. You will initially be seconded to support the COBP (Centre of Best Practice) technical team in delivering their responsibilities for providing evidence and solutions relating to life cycle and statutory compliance information for the Department of Health COBP audit.

This is a new role created to provide specialist support for the fire safety related requirements that Serco are required to deliver for site contract compliance. The specialist support will include fire doors, intumescent air transfer grilles, fire dampers, and subsequently all other statutory passive fire controls including walls, floors, ceilings, fire stopping and the subsequent fire compartment integrity.

**Main responsibilities of the role include**: Manage the required passive fire system contracts and works to ensure full compliance with statutory and contract requirements. Review the informal and formal COBP audit findings, working with the COBP specialist team. Assist the product of rectification programmed for identified issues with the operational team, to satisfy the contract timelines in the timeous and accurate delivery. Maintain the information databases for the site Fire Strategy. Monitoring and updating on concept progress of relevant report tasks, producing status reports as required. Ensure that the COPD information and lessons learned are utilised and maintained for the accurate recording and management of client information. Support the site based operational and projects teams as required to improve performance, compliance, reduce contract abatements and reputational damage. Site attendance is permanently required for the working week to ensure that support is on hand for the site teams and to make sure that site documentation control and ease of access is integrated and sustained.
