Swinton Estate is situated in the Yorkshire Dales and is one of the largest privately owned estates in England. Constantly developing we boast Swinton Park, a luxury traditional castle hotel with 42 bedrooms, three holiday cottages and award-winning Samuel’s Restaurant; a luxurious country club and spa including the contemporary Terrace Restaurant; Swinton Bivouac a glamping site with tree lodges, yurts and café, and last but by no means least the Swinton cookery school.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Housekeeper to join our team at Swinton Estate. Reporting into the Executive Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and overall guest experience..

Job Responsibilities:_**
- Oversee the housekeeping department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the hotel.
- Develop and implement efficient cleaning procedures, schedules, and protocols
- Lead and motivate a team of housekeeping employees, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure exceptional performance and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, promptly addressing any cleanliness issues and maintenance needs.
- Manage and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities, monitoring usage, and coordinating timely replenishment.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, such as front desk and maintenance, to ensure seamless communication and the swift resolution of guest requests or concerns.
- Uphold and enforce health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, implementing innovative housekeeping solutions to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain records and documentation related to housekeeping activities, including employee rotas, performance evaluations, and inventory management.

Qualifications and Skills:_**
- Previous experience in a managerial role within the housekeeping department of a hotel or hospitality establishment.
- Thorough knowledge of housekeeping operations, including cleaning procedures, quality standards, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team to deliver exceptional service.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for cleanliness and aesthetics, ensuring a flawless guest experience.
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with staff, guests, and other departments.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the organisation.
