This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the critical care therapy team.

The post holder is responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support to the qualified staff and works without direct supervision undertaking treatment plans delegated by a qualified therapist in order to progress the rehabilitation of critically unwell patients..

Key role is to perform specific tasks for an individual as part of the treatment and rehabilitation programme without direct supervision, but under the direction of a qualified staff member. Duties may include:

- Implementation and progression of treatment plans delegated by qualified staff.
- Perform mobility and stair assessments and issue advice leaflets to patients.
- Teaching, issuing and progressing mobility with the use of walking aids.
- Providing non-complex interventions for complex patients.
- Discharging patients under supervision of qualified staff.
- Teaching and progressing the independent use of wheelchairs.
- Restocking and cleaning of re-usable equipment as required per trust policies.
- Demonstrating and teaching personal and domestic activities of daily living.
- Reinforces the qualified therapist's advice and patient education.
- Completes graded, indoor/outdoor functional mobility programmes with patients. This involves continuous and independent assessment of environment and potential safety risks.

The post-holder is responsible for and provide both clinical and administrative support to qualified staff

The post-holder works without direct supervision, within the specified clinical area, undertaking tasks delegated by a qualified therapist

The post holder will be implementing and progressing agreed therapy treatment programmes for patients

The post holder shows initiative, motivation and excellent organisational ability working closely with therapy staff to develop administrative support and systems for the therapy team

The post-holder will be involved in the supervision and education of apprentice and assistant staff within the team

The post-holder provides cover for other therapy assistants and instructors across the service in periods of leave or absence
