We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Agent / Senior Agent.

**About the Project**

Thames Tideway Tunnel Main Works East is a £650m Costain-Vinci-Bachy joint venture ("CVB") which aims to achieve the ambitious target of "Reconnecting London with the River Thames" by tackling the issue of frequent untreated sewage spills into the river from London's sewer network. This major project will provide a new sewage storage and transfer tunnel from Chambers Wharf to Abbey Mills. It includes the main tunnel, a connection tunnel to Greenwich Pumping Station, various shaft constructions, a connection to the newly constructed Lee Tunnel project, and minor works at the Beckton Sewage Treatment Plant.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Leading the site delivery team to deliver the works safely and right first time, to programme and budget.
- Active and collaborative management of the complete construction process at site level, with particular emphasis on leading safety and quality.
- Establish and maintain safe systems of work as part of developing SHE programme and lead weekly SHE inspections
- Be responsible and co-operate with the team to ensure work is planned and undertaken in accordance with the Project Safety, Health and Environmental Plan
- Manage and implement the quality process in accordance with the Project Quality Plan, with a particular emphasis on defect avoidance and zero defects at completion.
- Plan, organise, implement, review and monitor procedures with respect to Environmental impact and maintain overall responsibility for the implementation of the Project Environmental Plan
- Be proactive in controlling project costs and provide detailed reports on variances against weekly forecasts
- Identify risks and opportunities, both technical and commercial, and take account of these in developing a strategy for successful project delivery
- Manage and monitor the progress of work against realistic programme milestones and advise on measures to mitigate delay as necessary
- Be responsible for contractual matters relating to the Contract and Subcontracts, for raising the necessary correspondence, change management and for record keeping
- Ensure that subcontractor and supplier contractual programmes are within the required timescale, are regularly updated and effectively implemented
- Be pro-active in obtaining permanent and temporary works design information within required timescales and ensure that the information is cascaded as necessary.
- Effectively manage the contractor design elements of work to the same high standards
- Ensure that all subcontractor and supplier plan and procedures are compatible with the discharge of the client's and Costain's obligations and responsibilities
- Lead the interface with Thames Water for the site.
- Liaise with third parties as necessary
- Manage a team of engineers and mentor them for their next steps up
- Reports to the site project manager.

**About you**
- Have SMSTS
- Have CSCS card
- Experience of NEC 3 Form of Contract and Subcontract.
- Experienced in site management and leading a team of engineers
Understanding of Engineering Principles
- Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Document control system)
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management
