**Full Time, Fixed Term - 4 months**

This is a fixed-term role for a four-month project generously funded by the National Manuscripts Conservation Trust and the Friends of Bristol Museums, Galleries & Archives.

Bristol Archives holds an extensive set of building plans in need of conservation. We're seeking a conservator to take on an exploratory project, to disbind one volume of plans to devise strategies for their preservation, and then assess how this work could be scaled up across the collection.

We're seeking pragmatic, cost-effective solutions to ensure these records can remain available for research. We'll also be seeking to share learning from the project with conservation archives professionals and students.

We're looking for someone with:

- Experience of identifying appropriate methods and strategies for managing the preservation of documents;
- The ability to deliver work on time and on budget;
- Effective problem solving skills and the capability to work independently and in collaboration with colleagues.
