The Role:

- Business Risk & Control Specialist's support the First Line Business Areas with non-financial risk management and risk reporting in line with the relevant Policies, Frameworks and Standards. They act as first point of contact for the Business, Risk, Compliance and Audit teams in relation to risk and control matters for their respective Business Area or the Business Unit.- Key Responsibilities:
- Support Identification and management of risks and mitigating actions/controls with the RCSA Owner (typically Head of the Business Area or Business Unit). On-going maintenance of RCSAs, associated Risk Acceptances and reporting to committees/management forum.
- Support Identification and management of conflicts of interest and mitigating actions/controls with the Conflict Owner. Maintain the relevant Conflicts of Interest Register in MetricStream and support deep dive activity on key areas of conflict/controls.
- Manage and maintain Risk and Control Matrices and Process Maps for key on-desk activity. Organise and oversee Key Control Assessments (“KCAs”) and other control testing (e.g. led by Audit).
- Support the monitor risk and control environment, e.g. MI across conduct risk, reputational risk, oversight gaps for third-party suppliers such as external fund managers, etc.
- Identify and manage emerging risks proactively for their relevant Business Area, e.g. via trend analysis, Project/Change impact analysis, etc.
- Perform or support with thematic reviews/Deep dives as required.
- Work with the Risk Events Management Team to manage risk events where required.
- Support the Business with the identification of business self-identified issues and actions. Record and manage issues and actions on MetricStream. Monitor, track and support the Business with timely closure of issues and actions.
- Support Head Business Risk Partners and heads of Businesses to prepare papers/MI for Key Management Meetings and Committees.
- Lead and/or provide risk management support, advice and guidance for risk remediation activity
- Support the First Line with training needs where relevant
- Support the implementation/embedding of Second Line Risk Frameworks
- Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required:- Essential;- Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Reporting experience - proficient in excel/PowerPoint/Power BI for an executive audience.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines - under pressure from both internal and external clients.
- Forward thinking and driven.
- An open/effective communication style.
- Excellent planning and organising skills.
- Desirable but not essential;- Relevant qualification or experience in Asset Management Product Distribution and Marketing knowledge
- Operational Risk Systems such as MetricStream
- Asset Management Product knowledge
